Digital Skills induction and training for students

The Digital Skills team welcomes new and returning students to, and back to, Cardiff Met. In this message you will find details of the Digital Essentials induction that new students should complete and the digital skills courses and certifications that will help all students develop and evidence crucial digital capabilities.

Digital Essentials induction

The Digital Essentials induction explores the core digital skills students need to study at Cardiff Met.

New Cardiff Met students should complete the induction to learn about the technologies and practices that will enable you to complete your studies remotely and in person. Returning students are also encouraged to complete the induction to get reacquainted with the software and skills you will need this year.

Here’s what you need to do:
1.    Complete and pass the Digital Essentials induction e-lesson.
2.    Attend and complete the Introduction to Teams and Managing Documents at Cardiff Met training sessions that build upon the induction e-lesson.

Digital Skills courses for autumn 2021

The Autumn Term sees our biggest ever programme of digital skills courses that will develop the digital capabilities that you will need while studying at Cardiff Met, and beyond.

All our courses are free and lead to qualifications and digital badge certifications: proof of your digital skills, which you easily share with your peers and employers through LinkedIn and social media.

Here’s a summary of what is on offer in the first part of this term.

Microsoft Office Specialist courses and qualifications

Microsoft Office Specialist courses and qualifications are available for Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. These comprehensive training courses lead to official Microsoft qualifications and digital badges.

The courses have been updated for the latest version of the Office suite (365/2019) and will provide you with the principle skills you need to use the software not just effectively, but efficiently. At the heart of each course is an award-winning e-learning package* that allows you study the material in a semi-flexible way. The e-learning is complemented by live Key Concept sessions that are open to all.

Sesiynau Cynefino a Hyfforddiant Sgiliau Digidol i fyfyrwyr

Mae'r tîm Sgiliau Digidol yn croesawu myfyrwyr newydd a myfyrwyr sy'n dychwelyd i Met Caerdydd. Yn y neges hon fe welwch fanylion y cwrs cynefino Hanfodion Digidol y dylai myfyrwyr newydd eu cwblhau a'r cyrsiau a'r ardystiadau sgiliau digidol a fydd yn helpu pob myfyriwr i ddatblygu a thystio galluoedd digidol hanfodol.

Cwrs Cynefino Hanfodion Digidol

Mae'r cwrs cynefino Hanfodion Digidol yn archwilio'r sgiliau digidol craidd y mae angen i fyfyrwyr eu hastudio ym Met Caerdydd.

Dylai myfyrwyr Met Caerdydd newydd gwblhau'r cwrs cynefino i ddysgu am y technolegau a'r arferion a fydd yn eich galluogi i gwblhau eich astudiaethau o bell ac yn bersonol. Anogir myfyrwyr sy'n dychwelyd hefyd i gwblhau'r cwrs sefydlu er mwyn dod yn gyfarwydd â'r feddalwedd a'r sgiliau y bydd eu hangen arnoch eleni.

Dyma beth sydd angen i chi ei wneud:
1.    Cwblhau a phasio’r e-wers cynefino Hanfodion Digidol.
2.    Mynychu a chwblhau'r sesiwn hyfforddi Cyflwyniad i Teams a Rheoli Dogfennau ym Met Caerdydd  sy'n adeiladu ar yr e-wers cynefino.

Gellir gweld yr e-wers Hanfodion Digidol a dolenni cofrestru ar gyfer y sesiynau hyfforddiant ar y dudalen Hanfodion Digidol ar Astudio.

Yn ystod Tymor yr Hydref byddwn yn cynnal ein rhaglen fwyaf erioed o gyrsiau sgiliau digidol a fydd yn datblygu'r galluoedd digidol y bydd eu hangen arnoch tra’n astudio ym Met Caerdydd, a thu hwnt.

Mae ein holl gyrsiau am ddim ac yn arwain at gymwysterau ac ardystiadau bathodyn digidol: prawf o'ch sgiliau digidol, y maent yn hawdd eu rhannu â'ch cyfoedion a'ch cyflogwyr trwy LinkedIn a'r cyfryngau cymdeithasol.

Dyma grynodeb o'r hyn sydd ar gael yn rhan gyntaf y tymor hwn.

Mae cyrsiau a chymwysterau Microsoft Office Specialist ar gael ar gyfer Excel, Word, PowerPoint ac Outlook. Mae'r cyrsiau hyfforddi cynhwysfawr hyn yn arwain at gymwysterau swyddogol Microsoft a bathodynnau digidol.
