Subject Guide - Cardiff School of Art and Design

The subject guides are designed to give you a brief introduction to the resources available for your studies.

We can help you:

  • Search for and find good quality academic journals and resources

  • Choose subject-specific internet resources

  • Save time by getting the best from the resources available

We can help you on a one-to-one basis at a time that suits you, either face-to-face, over the phone or via email.

 Books on your reading list

Use MetSearch to access online resources and find print resources in the Library.  The majority of our print items can be borrowed for one week and will be renewed automatically unless requested by another borrower.

 Finding journal articles
Most of the time you should be able to find and access the articles you need through MetSearch.  However, we also provide access to databases that can help you to discover articles to further support your research.  The Journals A-Z list will also enable you to find specific journals.
If we don't provide access to the full text of an article you need, you can request the item via the InterLibrary Loan link on MetSearch.

Some useful print and eJournals for inspiration and to keep up to date with the art world include:

The full list of our databases can be found through the Database A-Z link on MetSearch.
