QuickConnect Method of Connecting to Eduroam

At Cardiff Met, we strongly advise you to connect to Eduroam using the secure method.  This will ensure your connection is secure and protects your device against possible security threats.

This option should only be used if you are experiencing issues connecting using the secure tool.

Apple/iOS

  1. Connect to the Eduroam network.
  2. In the Username field, enter your user ID which must be followed by @cardiffmet.ac.uk:
  3. Enter your password in the password field.
        • We recommend you change your password if you are a new member of staff or student before connecting to Eduroam.  Once you do, you won't be prompted to change in future.
  4. Accept/Trust certificates if prompted.

 

Android

  1. Connect to the Eduroam network.
  2. EAP Method should be PEAP.
  3. Phased Authentication should be MSCHAPv2.
  4. CA Certificate shoud be do not validate.
  5. In the Identity field, enter your user ID which must be followed by @cardiffmet.ac.uk:

  6. In the Anonymous Identity field, please ignore this and leave blank.

  7. Enter your password in the password field.

        • We recommend you change your password if you are a new member of staff or student before connecting to Eduroam.  Once you do, you won't be prompted to change in future.
  8. Press Connect.
