What is 'OneDrive for Business'?

OneDrive for Business (OD4B) is Microsoft's cloud based online file storage and sharing service that is delivered to Cardiff Met staff and students as part of the University's Office 365 subscription.

Staff and students receive an initial allocation of up to 1TB of storage and it's an ideal place for storing documents that can be accessed from a variety of devices including Windows & Apple computers and ​Android & Apple smartphones/tablets.

What is the difference between OneDrive and SharePoint?

SharePoint is a cloud storage service that is used to store, share and manage shared documents, particularly those shared through Teams.

OneDrive is a cloud storage service you should use to store, share and manage your Cardiff Met personal documents.


Accessing OneDrive for Business

Students and Staff can access OneDrive for Business from the Office 365 apps list at https://portal.office.com

1. Go to https://portal.office.com and log into your portal using your student number in the format STyourstudentnumber@cardiffmet.ac.uk

2. Click on the Grid in the top left of the screen, then select OneDrive
