Microsoft Teams is a digital communication and collaboration platform that can facilitate effective remote working, teaching and learning.
This series of training sessions explains how students and staff can fully utilise Teams to become a confident and effective member of a digital team.
There are five sessions. Each is one hour long. They are open to students and staff.

An Introduction to Teams – introduces Teams and its core functions. You will learn the essentials you need to communicate through Teams, how to participate in Teams meetings and important concepts such as @mentions.

Teams for Learning and Working Remotely – further explores Teams features that facilitate effective remote learning and working. You will learn how to schedule meetings, create and manage teams and collaborate on documents.
Prerequisite: Ideally you will have completed the
Introduction to Teams session before attending.

Using Office 365 Apps with Teams - looks at how Office 365 apps can improve your team's productivity and enhance learning and teaching. You will learn how to use OneNote to share notes and teaching resources, about managing projects with Planner, using Forms to create simple forms and how to share videos and recordings through Stream.
Prerequisite: Ideally you will have completed the Introduction to Teams session before attending. -
Teams for Teaching Remotely – two sessions for teaching staff:

Teams for Teaching: Managing Teams and Meetings - explores how to manage teams and meetings that are used for teaching and learning. You will learn how to create teams, join students to those teams and manage membership. You will learn how to schedule sessions, invite/alert students to those sessions and set appropriate meeting options. You will learn how to present content and manage participants in a meeting.
Prerequisite: Ideally you will have completed the
Introduction to Teams session before attending.

Teams for Teaching: Enhancing Teams Teaching - This masterclass session explores features and apps that can enhance the learning experience when teaching with Teams. You will learn about breakout rooms, Together mode (a virtual auditorium) and Focus mode. You will also learn how apps such as Forms (for quizzes and polls) and Microsoft Whiteboard can be used to complement the Teams teaching experience.
Prerequisite: Ideally you will have completed the Introduction to Teams and
Teams for Teaching Remotely: Managing Teams and Meetings training before attending.

The sessions will be held through a Microsoft Teams meeting. A link (URL) to the meeting and
joining instructions will be sent after booking on a session.
Full course - Collaborating with Microsoft Teams and Office 365
Each session is a standalone training session, but taken together they form the the
Collaborating with Teams and Office 365 course. The course gives you a full appreciation of how to use Teams and Office 365 so that you can be a confident and effective member of a digital team.
Successful completion of the full course leads to the
Digital Collaboration with Microsoft Teams and Office 365 digital badge and certificate: proof of your digital communication skills.
