What Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) and Information Technology Specialist (ITS) training do you offer?
We offer Cardiff Met Microsoft Office Specialist courses for Excel, Word. PowerPoint and Outlook. We also offer LearnKey e-learning courses and MOS qualifications for MOS Excel Expert, MOS Word Expert and MOS Access Expert.
We offer a Cardiff Met course that leads to the ITS HTML and CSS qualification. We brand this course as Web Design Fundamentals. We also offer LearnKey e-learning courses and ITS qualifications for technical topics (e.g. programming).

They are available for free to Cardiff Met staff and students.

Comprehensive e-learning courses, live Key Concept training sessions, practice projects, Microsoft textbooks and GMetrix practice software.
How much does it cost?
MOS and ITS courses and qualifications are available to Cardiff Met staff and students
free of charge.
What is the format of a Microsoft Office Specialist exam? And an ITS exam?
MOS exams are project based. You are given a document/spreadsheet/presentation file and you are required to develop it through a series of tasks. For example, in the MOS Excel Specialist exam you are presented with a spreadsheet and you may be asked to format it, analyse it using functions and present the data in the form of a chart.
ITS exams are complex multi-choice exams.
How long is a MOS or ITS exam?
MOS exams and ITS exams are 50 minutes long.
Where do I sit the exams?
The exams can be sat in person at Cardiff Met or remotely, online through Certiport's Exams From Home system.
When will I get my results?
Your results will be available immediately after the conclusion of the exam.

Microsoft Office Specialist Certification page. Certiport, who administer the exams, also have information about MOS. Likewise, you'll find more information about ITS exams on the
Certiport site.
Do I get a certificate if I pass the exam?
Yes, official Microsoft certificates can be downloaded through your Certiport account. You can also share your achievement through a digital badge issued in conjunction with Credly.com. That badge can be added as an official certification to your LinkedIn profile. You also have the option of claiming a physical certificate.

How does my certification get displayed as a badge?
We have partnered with Credly to translate the learning outcomes you’ve demonstrated into a badge, issued and managed through the company’s Credly Platform. The technology Credly uses on its platform is based on the Open Badge Standards maintained by IMS Global. This enables you to manage, share and verify your competencies digitally.
What are the benefits of a badge?
Representing your skills as a badge gives you a way to share your abilities online in a way that is simple, trusted and can be easily verified in real time. Badges provide employers and peers concrete evidence of what you had to do to earn your credential and what you’re now capable of.
What do I need to do to gain a Cardiff Met digital badge?
You must complete one of our
Digital Badges at Cardiff Met training courses and pass the associated assessment.
