We are going to follow a music student called Alison as she writes an essay about computerised music. The topic of Alison's essay is a new computer programme, which pretends to be a classical composer called 'Emily Howell'. The programme's inventor is David Copeland.

Each time Alison needs to enter a quote and a reference in her essay, we'll analyse how she does it, then you will get more examples to practise what you have learned.

Alison starts with by making a simple direct quotation from a book source.
