Spring Term IT Training Schedule

This term's IT training schedule for staff includes Microsoft Office Specialist Excel, a double dose of SharePoint and OneDrive training, Qualtrics and Business Objects courses.

Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) is a Microsoft qualification programme that certifies proficiency in Office applications.  Our popular MOS Excel 2016 course is a bespoke training course for staff that utilises actual Cardiff Met spreadsheets to teach the key principles of Excel, whilst simultaneously preparing staff for the MOS Excel exam.

The course consists of 5 half-day training sessions, with additional practice tasks that can be completed independently or in MOS Workshops. The course culminates in March with the MOS Excel exam.  As well as our bespoke training material, trainees will have access to official Microsoft resources and will be issued with a licence for the GMetrix practice software, which is excellent preparation for the exam.

There are two instances of Managing your Documents with SharePoint and OneDrive on this term's schedule. The course looks at how SharePoint and OneDrive can be used to store, share and manage documents. The course covers: saving and sharing files, working with Office 365 and document collaboration tools such as real-time co-authoring and version history.

Designing Effective Surveys with Qualtrics is a comprehensive course that explores how the Qualtrics platform can be used to create, distribute and analyse surveys.  The course covers: planning and designing surveys, survey logic, sharing surveys, distributing surveys and the reporting tools.

Business Objects training is available for staff who use the business intelligence software to report on corporate data, such as data held in the Student System.  There are two levels of training scheduled:

  • Business Objects: Introduction this course will build your confidence in using both the Business Intelligence Launch Pad and the Web Intelligence reporting tool.  Topics covered include: viewing and organising personal and corporate documents, formatting reports and organising and summarising data.
  • Business Objects: Intermediate will extend your Business Objects knowledge and skills, enabling you to produce and share complex and well-presented documents.  Learn how to: create and use document templates, use multiple queries and reports and create formulae.

Mae siediwl hyfforddi TG y tymor hwn yn cynnwys 'Microsoft Office Specialist Excel', dogn dwbl o 'SharePoint' a hyfforddiant 'OneDrive', cyrsiau 'Qualtrics' a 'Business Objects'.

Mae MOS (Microsoft Office Specialist) yn rhaglen gymhwyster Microsoft sy'n cadarnhau hyfedredd mewn cymwysiadau 'Office'. Mae ein cwrs poblogaidd MOS Excel 2016 yn gwrs hyfforddi pwrpasol ar gyfer staff sy'n defnyddio taenlenni Met Caerdydd ei hun i addysgu egwyddorion allweddol Excel ac, ar yr un pryd, yn paratoi staff ar gyfer arholiad 'MOS Excel'.

Mae hyfforddiant 'Business Objects' ar gael i staff sy'n defnyddio meddalwedd gwybodaeth busnes i adrodd ar ddata corfforaethol, megis y data a gedwir yn y System Myfyrwyr. Trefnir dwy lefel o hyfforddiant:

  • Business Objects: Introduction - bydd y cwrs hwn yn codi'ch hyder i ddefnyddio'r adnodd 'Business Intelligence Launch Pad' a'r adnodd riportio Web Intelligence. Ymhlith y pynciau a drafodir bydd: gweld a threfnu dogfennau personol a chorfforaethol, fformatio adroddiadau a threfnu a chrynhoi data.
  • Bydd Business Objects: Intermediate yn ymestyn eich gwybodaeth a'ch sgiliau ym maes 'Business Objects' ac yn eich galluogi i lunio a rhannu dogfennau cymhleth a'u cyflwyno'n dda.  Cewch ddysgu sut i: lunio a defnyddio templedi dogfen, defnyddio amryfal ymholiadau ac adroddiadau a chreu fformiwlâu.
