Study Rooms

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all study rooms at both campuses will be unavailable until further notice. 


​​​Study Rooms are available for students to use if they are looking for somewhere quieter to study alone or in groups, whilst having access to a computer.  Study Rooms are available in the Llandaff and Cyncoed Learning Centres.

The study rooms at Llandaff have between 2 and 4 PCs and the Cyncoed rooms each have at least one PC in them.  All PCs have exactly the same software as in the main IT suite. 

Booking Rules

    • Students can book a maximum of 2 x 2 hour bookings per day.

    • Students are allowed to renew bookings, 15 minutes before the end of the booking assuming the room isn't booked by another student.  (Students could book a session 9-11 and 11-1PM and assuming the room isn't been booked after 1PM, potentially renew the 11-1 booking which will reserve the room until 3PM).

    • Students can book up to 4 weeks in advance.


These can be​ booked yourselves through Cardiff Met's Connect2 system.  Here you can login as yourself, check room availability and manage your own bookings too.
 
You can access this system by signing into your account with you student ID and password at http://connect2.cardiffmet.ac.uk

Once you have signed into your account, click on Book Study Rooms.

You will then see a list of study rooms at Cyncoed and Llandaff so please ensure you choose the right campus.
 
You can check the availability of the rooms by choosing the Check Availability option or proceed to Create Booking.

Next you will see a calendar type layout with all free periods in white.  When you click on a start time the booking will automatically enter a 2 hour session for you.  This can be changed manually if you want a shorter session.

When you are happy with the booking, click Next.  You will see a Verify Booking status page so please check your details before clicking on Submit.  You will subsequently be sent a confirmation email to your student email address.
 
You can also log in to the system and cancel your booking if you are unable to make the session or if you no longer need the room.
